The Tasmanian Devil
|
The Devil is the only carnivorous marsupial left since the other thyalcine or Tasmanian tiger became extinct in 1936. The Devil is alive and well in Tasmania and will still raid farms to kill and make off with hens. It is a fierce looking little creature, solidly built and with white bars across its dark body. They are active at night and this leads to some road kill. Over the last few years there has been some more detailed research into their habits, and their territorial systems.
